Problem

Provider data is a rich source of information about a customer's application. However, this data is confined to the Passfort check output and cannot be used in the PassFort risk model. This is an issue for customers who want to score an application based on data returned directly by a provider (e.g industry or turnover data).

Solution

Allow customers to leverage data returned from data providers like Orbis directly in their risk models by mapping provider data into Passfort custom fields.

Goal: Customers want to be able to onboard a company automatically when no associates are returned by the data provider.

Users aren’t able to easily identify what has changed between updates to the data received from Moody's Orbis. To mitigate this users are required to spend time switching between different task versions to compare them manually. We know this can be time consuming.

We will make it easier to see what's changed when an Orbis monitoring event causes a task to be uncompleted.

Custom field data is currently not visible in the (applications) profile list. This work will allow customers to see custom fields, particularly those populated by custom check data, in the profile list, which will give them visibility into data points necessary for their due diligence workflows.

The feature is aimed at creating a product that meets the needs of those clients that need the most basic functionality - upload in bulk, carry out checks on the profiles created as part of the upload automatically and providing reporting on the upload itself and the results of any automated checks carried out.

It will be released to select clients in order to gather data for future prioritisation of those features that are out of scope of this phase. These include bulk deletion, custom data export, de-duplication, complex monitoring scenarios and enhanced validation.

When you want to work with a company that is a customer or potential customer, it is helpful to understand whether that company is trustworthy or not as quickly as possible. One way of achieving this is to analyse the company's web presence.

Solution

TrueBiz.io automates the process of analysing a company's web presence. This covers everything from the content of the company's website to the sentiment about that company in reviews and on social media. Comparing the risk signals detected against the risk criteria you configure, TrueBiz can return a pass or fail result for each company.

TrueBiz's Passfort integration will allow you to leverage this TrueBiz functionality as part of your Passfort workflow.

Problem

Working with third parties that have high cyber risk can lead to data breaches and ransomware incidents that impact both them and your company.

Solution

Moody's is building a cyber risk check into PassFort so that you know what your third party's cyber risk is. It will contain an overall cyber risk score as well as detailed score breakdown so you know how the third party ranks in different areas of cyber risk.

Problem During KYC onboarding, Customers face the challenge of identifying patterns of shell company risk. This process is often time-consuming and can lead to potential issues in compliance, business continuity, and risk management.

Solution Moody's Iceberg Indicator will be a first-to-market solution that provides an "at a glance" indicator, alerting Customers to heightened shell company risk during KYC onboarding.

Iceberg will reveal shell company risk by contextualising Moody’s data and building a picture of how a shell company behaves, leveraging its formation data and details surrounding beneficial owners, shareholders, and directors associated with that corporate entity. With this release, Moody’s will bring clarity to complex layered ownership through its own data insights (Orbis, Grid) and a typology-based rules engine fuelled by subject matter expertise.

The Iceberg Indicator will empower customers to make faster and informed decisions, while reducing the overall risk exposure and need for manual work.

When will it be delivered? Moody's Iceberg Indicator will be launched for select customers in the summer, with a general released targeted within Q4.

Problem: The inability to export the BvD ID in bulk from Passfort reports for a portfolio is a blocker for customers migrating from CCv2 to Passfort. Many of our corporate customers use the portfolio view and export feature of CCv2 for analysis, management reporting, internal system enrichment & decision making.

Solution: Enable customers to export the BvD ID using the bulk data export functionality within Passfort reports.

Problem

When onboarding companies or suppliers, it is important to know whether that company is financially sound or whether they are likely to default on their debts. Aside from providing you with an important insight into the financial risks of doing business, a company's credit rating is an important risk factor when assessing other types of AML and regulatory risk.

Solution

Moody's EDF-X (Expected Default Frequency and Expected Loss) data is a set of indicators that provide an overview of a company's financial health and credit risk. This data is invaluable in assessing risk, and can provide you with confidence that the businesses you're dealing with are financially sound.

Within the new Moody's EDF-X integration you will be able to access four variables: Probability of Default, Implied Credit Rating, Peer Group Comparison (probability of default), and an Early Warning Indicator.

The new EDF-X product will also form part of Passfort's upcoming supplier risk management offering.

T-rank's expertise on Company Ownership distilled into both it's underlying calculations and visualisations aren't available for Customers within PassFort.

Solution

The T-rank Integration within PassFort will allow Users to understand the Ownership Structure of a given company; building on PassFort's existing Assess Ownership Task, Users will be able access T-rank's detailed Ownership Visualisations directly from PassFort.

To build these visualisations T-rank leverages the Orbis dataset and the BVD Id. As such, Customers who wish to use T-rank will also have to have Orbis Company Search enabled within PassFort.

Problem We want to be able to broaden our provider coverage for eKYC checks in the UK.

Solution We will integrate with Equifax UK's IC SaaS product which offers eKYC checks. We will have it available for verify identity and verify address. We will not be able to resell these checks - you will need your own relationship with Equifax.

Problem Customers aren't currently able to access ESG data within Passfort.

We know the upcoming SEC proposal on climate-related disclosures, alongside other regulations coming into force across the globe, means our clients will be increasingly interested in leveraging ESG data.

Solution The upcoming Moody's ESG integration will allow you to access ESG scores within PassFort, and will move Passfort closer to offering a single tool for supplier risk management.

The integration will provide you with a holistic view of supplier risk, enabling you to make more informed decisions. If you're a supply chain client, you will be able to view your suppliers’ overall ESG score, individual E, S and G scores, and the domain and criteria scores that have contributed to the overall score.

To promote understanding and enable better clarity, the Integration will provide context behind the scores allowing you to better address any potential risks and make informed decisions on your suppliers.

Problem

Company Search through the MA Orbis Integration currently returns Branches alongside other company types (Headquarters, etc) within the search results. It does this however, without indicating which results are Branches which has caused justified confusion when trying to onboard the Company.

Solution

Company Search through the MA Orbis Integration will shortly begin labelling any Branches which are returned within Company Search results.

In the context of Orbis, Branches refer to the physical locations of a Company's operations, such as its offices, factories, and retail stores, that are located in different regions or countries.

Moody's Analytics (MA) clients expect a unified experience when they take multiple products. As an acquisition, PassFort must ensure that switching between and linking those products is seamless.

Solution

In order to unlock this behaviour for our users we will need to migrate PassFort's user DB to sign in via MA's Okta instance. This will allow users to log in once and then link additional MA data sources and sidestep between MA products with ease.

Migrating our user DB will allow us to add further features that have been requested such as enabling password recovery and account reset without the need for internal teams and create a new, more secure pathway for Customer Success and Support into client projects.

A US Deployment will reduce latency and offer performance enhancements to our customers in that market. It will also allow ring fencing for those customers who need to keep their data and the data of their clients in the jurisdiction in which they operate.

Problem

Customers are required to verify an applicant's identity and address when onboarding customers in certain jurisdictions, such as Switzerland and Greece.

Solution

We will add a new feature in our idbox integration to allow address verification within the same check.

PassFort clients who use the Orbis integration have access to the most important company information that Orbis makes available.

PassFort imports the data most relevant to the task at hand. Sometimes, you may want to see other information during the onboarding process that we haven't imported into PassFort. The only way to do this at the moment is to go to Orbis and search for the company again.

We will provide a link from the check result directly to the relevant Orbis profile so that any extra information a user wants to see in Orbis is easily accessible.

Problem: When adding several companies, is difficult to have to add them by name, or the BvD ID is not always known. Solution: We will enable Orbis users to search by company number when creating a company profile.

You can now review and cancel entire open customer requests in a new Customer communication section in Profile management.

Problem

Orbis provide financial data for companies which customers can use to assess financial stability of a company being onboarded, and other compliance use cases such as to identify shell companies. Our integration with Orbis does not currently support surfacing financial data.

Solution

Add support for financial statements and ratios to our Orbis integration so customers can use it when running a company data check through PassFort.

Problem

Associate roles for ownership (i.e, shareholders, beneficial owners, persons of significant control), are not leveraged comprehensively or consistently across risk, smart policies or verification lists. Additionally, a number of roles and data fields available through providers are not supported in PassFort (e.g controlling shareholders, global ultimate owners, distance from onboarded company)

Solution

Create any necessary additional associate roles that are not supported in PassFort and allow customers to retrieve and manage ownership roles through a new task type. Leverage associate roles across risk, smart policies and verification list configurations.

Problem

With a busy roadmap ahead and focused on prioritising features that will benefit the largest number of customers, new integrations will often not get prioritised. However, some of these data providers are key for customers to move to a new market or achieve best matching and STP rates thus not having an integration with a certain company data provider can have a negative impact for customers.

Solution

We decided to build an API which allows data providers to build their own integration with PassFort's integration hub. PassFort will also be able to outsource the work to a development partner when required and, in the future, customers will have the option to build their own integrations.

Give customers the ability to override the default task expiry date via API or via the portal.

We collect and use issuing state information for Australian driving licences when running electronic identity checks (in some cases, this is a required field). There is currently no way for users to manually make changes to that data on a profile.

Give users the ability to add, delete, and edit issuing state information for profiles so that they may collect up-to-date information about the documents provided by their customers, and re-run checks that leverage that information.

Company data providers such as Creditsafe can return a company's address but clients cannot use this as part of the address verification process.

Solution

Ability for clients to have a company's address verified through comparison of customer records and company address data stored by Creditsafe.

Note as part of this phase, Creditsafe address verification will not be available for customers using Creditsafe monitoring.

Problem

There are a number of configuration options and source types that Equifax support that aren't supported in PassFort, such as source prioritisation and "exclusion" data sources (fraud and mortality matches).

Solution

We will add a new configuration option that allows customers to use the overall result from Equifax AU to determine the check result in PassFort.

Problem

Onfido ID verification checks often fail when the Passport is from countries such as Malaysia and Singapore because our validation does not consider all valid scenarios for given names and surnames as represented by the MRZ (machine readable zone) on a passport.

Solution

We will improve our validation to support additional name representations on the MRZ in order to reduce fail rates.

Our ID verification (PassFort collects documents) integration with Onfido uses Onfido's v2 API, so customers are unable to benefit from improvements in v3.

Solution

We will implement a number of improvements to our Onfido ID verification (PassFort collects documents) integration, including upgrading to Onfido's v3 API and more granular breakdown of check failure reasons.

Problem

GBG now resell Experian data and have introduced a waterfall that discounts previously verified sources when running Experian and Equifax under the same (GBG) profile. Our current integration with GBGroup ID3global does not support multi-bureau checks.

Solution

We will support GBG multi-bureau checks. Configuration of the bureau order will happen on the GBG side and you will need your own agreement with GBG to run multi-bureau checks.

Problem

Customers running checks with Creditsafe using our reseller agreement are only able to run checks for a limited number of countries.

Solution

Add ability to run checks in more than 150 countries using Creditsafe with our reseller agreement.

We have implemented a number of improvements to our Onfido provider, where Onfido collects the documents.

To start using this, just get in touch with our team. These changes are all backwards compatible and will require no changes to your integration to use.

Context

Customers are obligated under GDPR to make sure they are recording information about their users properly. This means that if a file is added incorrectly, or to the wrong profile, there needs to be a way to remove it. 

Solution

PassFort will add the ability for authorised users to soft delete files. These files will be inaccessible, and will not be recoverable via the UI or API. The reason files will be soft deleted is to give the opportunity in the future to recover data in the rare situation there is a mistake or potential abuse of the system.

Custom fields are not currently supported by policy versioning. This means that customers who can self-configure their policy won't be able to make changes to their institution's custom fields.

Solution

Support custom fields in policy versioning so that customers can change, validate, and review the impact of a change to a custom field.

When signing up for a new product, applicants expect an easy sign up process, with the minimum amount of friction possible. Entering addresses can take a long time and be error prone.

When asked for an address, applicants will be able to start entering part of an address and the rest will be prefilled.

If there is outstanding information required from a customer, this is not obviously flagged to agents. Meaning that could take unnecessary action before all required material is collected.

Change the hierarchy of flags in the profiles table so that 'Waiting for customer' is surfaced as a higher priority

Problem

Driving licence information is an important factor that contributes to pass rates for identity checks with Equifax AU IDMatrix product. PassFort's integration does not send driving licence information (number and issuing state code) to Equifax AU when running the identity check, resulting in lower pass rate than expected.

Solution

Driving licence number and issuing state will be sent to Equifax AU, when present on the profile. Sending this information means Equifax will search driver's licence DVS source for matches, and therefore increase the chances of pass results.

Problem

Forms are associated to tasks in an institution's policy configuration. However, policy versioning does not currently support forms. We are therefore unable to show users if the task they are making changes to has any associated forms that might be impacted by the change. This will make it hard for users who are self-configuring their institution's policies to assess the full impact of a change.

Solution

Introduce the concept of forms as an element of draft policies so that we can display and validate form and task associations to users with policy versioning.

Note: non-PassFort users will not be able to configure forms themselves, this will still be managed by a PassFort implementation specialist.

Problem

The notice period for task expiry is currently set at 30 days. However, in some cases, customers might need to reach out to onboarded companies and individuals earlier than 30 days before expiry (for example because new documents will need to be submitted).

Solution

Make task expiry notice periods customisable at the task level, so that customers can select a more suitable expiry notice period.

When our customers verify Japanese applicants using Trustdock as a document verification provider, they need to provide MyNumber values as part of their tax reporting processes. However, for security purposes, the MyNumber value is returned in a different endpoint and is not currently available in our integration.

Solution

We'll expand our integration with Trustdock to retrieve the MyNumber value returned for applicants. Because of the sensitivity of the MyNumber information, we'll make this information available in reporting, but obfuscate the full value in the PassFort profile.

Problem

Our customers are increasingly leveraging bespoke Trulioo configurations on a country by country basis, which our current integration does not support. As a result, there can be a discrepancy between results in Trulioo and PassFort.

Solution

We will introduce the option to use the overall Trulioo result so that customers can choose to use the direct Trulioo result based on their bespoke rules and definitions configured in their Trulioo settings. When this option is selected, the electronic identity check result in PassFort will be derived directly from the Trulioo result. Any changes to a client's configuration in Trulioo will be reflected in PassFort.

Problem

Document and identity verification using provider SDKs offers more security and better pass rates. We don't support these currently, and its something a number of customers have asked for. Solution Allow applicants to start and complete the Onfido ID verification flow from within an ad hoc or flow type customer request.

Problem

Customers expect to have full control of their settings and policy configurations so that they can make changes to their Smart Policies autonomously. Current Smart Policies don't effectively support the ability to makes changes.

Solution

Support versioning across all core elements of Smart Policies (e.g data providers, checks, risk, flowcharts, tasks, etc) so that changes to a Smart Policy can be made, reviewed, and ultimately published before going live. We'll make self-configurable Smart Policies available in staging environments for select testing partners.

Problem

For security and audit purposes, our clients need to ensure that access to their PassFort institution is limited to verified IP addresses.

Solution

The ability to create and maintain whitelists of permitted IP addresses.

Profile data for individuals only supports one national identity number. Some integrations allow clients to run checks using different identity types, but it's not currently possible for users of our platform to add or edit additional identity documents to a profile.

Solution

Add option to store and display a range of identity numbers and types directly on an individual's profile. Give users the ability to add, edit, and remove these identity documents.

You will be able to use company data checks with Creditorwatch to verify shareholders and officers of companies registered in Australia.

You can choose which sanctions lists you want to search, and choose whether you want to include matches from Dow Jones Watchlist's Other Official Lists and Other Exclusion Lists.

You can also use any of these new configuration options:

• Ignore matches where the person is marked deceased by Dow Jones Watchlist.

• Include relatives & close associates (RCAs), like business partners or close relatives, in the match results.

• Include individuals with additional domestic screening requirements (ADSRs) in the match results.

• Check the individual's country of nationality against any of these Dow Jones Watchlist country categories: Citizenship; Country of Registration; Country of Affiliation; Resident of; Jurisdiction; Country of Reported Allegation.

We have made improvements to our integration with Refinitiv World-Check One.

1. PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media matches found with Refinitiv World-Check One for individuals now include country of residence. The country of residence for each match is displayed (when available), so you have more information when deciding whether it's a true match or a false positive.

2. You can also now prevent matches which World-Check One determines to be false positives from being shown at all in PassFort.

3. We automatically send country of address to World-Check One so you can use it as a filtering criteria

We're working on a solution to allow a proof of address through a geocoded IP address lookup. This will combine our preexisting integrations with Iovation and Loqate and calculate the distance between customer's real IP address and profile address. This is likely to be suitable for lower risk customers in some jurisdictions, as an alternative to document based verification.

This will broaden our existing document collection flows to support unlimited document types. They can be requested within the portal, and can support the verification of things like source-of-wealth and proof-of-address.

This will make use of our forms product, allowing for full configurability and white-labelling.

Upgrading our Onfido document verification integration to support their video facial check functionality.

This helps to prevent fraud by preventing sophisticated spoofing attempts. It validates that the individual uploading the document matches the document's photo, and that the individual is present at the onboarding.

This will be available to all existing users of Onfido document verification through PassFort. We are unable to resell Onfido checks, and so new customers will require their own direct relationship with Onfido. However, PassFort can support in brokering this relationship.

We have built a first version of a new integration using Dow Jones API which will, in the long term, replace the existing Feed integration.

This feature allows you to use the credentials you use to access your company's services and network to access PassFort.

Japanese regulators require companies to send customers an access code to their home addresses as part of their address verification whenever they can't verify their identity using specific processes and documents.

Trustdock offers a mail solution called Snail Mail that allows you to verify a customer's home address by sending post to their registered address.

We will be integrating with Trustdock's Snail Mail API to enable our customers doing business in Japan to run address verification checks through our platform.
